ITAPS Announces it is Preparing Ambitious Tech Industry Recommendations to Modernize Government IT

WASHINGTON—The IT Alliance for Public Sector (ITAPS), a division of tech industry trade group ITI, released the following statement today from Senior Vice President for Public Sector Trey Hodgkins following the White House releasing its Report to the President on Federal IT Modernization, which outlines recommendations for the federal government to modernize its information technology (IT) systems and announced the industry is preparing recommendations as well:

“We are pleased to see the White House continue to prioritize transforming how the federal government acquires IT and modernizes woefully out of date legacy systems that bog our government down and leave it vulnerable to attacks,” Hodgkins said. “After the June meeting with tech company CEOs, we’ve convened industry experts over the past several weeks to develop ambitious recommendations for the government to modernize its computer systems, adopt new technologies, and strengthen its cybersecurity capabilities. We plan to review the White House’s report and then offer our key recommendations in early September on how innovative technologies can help the government better serve the American people.”
