WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI welcomed the progress from the first U.S./UK Dialogues on the Future of Atlantic Trade. In its 2022 Action Plan, ITI urged the Biden Administration to negotiate digital trade and other binding commercial commitments with international partners to ensure the broad expansion of their benefits to the global economy.

“We welcome the bilateral efforts to improve and strengthen digital trade and broader technology and supply chain policy cooperation between the United States and United Kingdom,” said ITI’s President and CEO Jason Oxman. “We are encouraged by these dialogues that aim to promote supply chain resiliency, facilitate exports by small- and medium-sized enterprises, and ensure the benefits of digital trade extend as broadly as possible. We encourage both sides to use these discussions to renew efforts toward the adoption of strong, binding, rules-based and market access commitments, which will fortify the bilateral economic and security relationship and set a model for other countries. ITI stands ready to serve as a resource and partner in those discussions.”
