WASHINGTON — Today, global tech trade association ITI welcomed the Bipartisan Infrastructure Framework, a measure to modernize U.S. infrastructure:

“Investments in digital technologies and infrastructure are critical to the United States’ near-term economic success and for building a solid foundation for America’s future growth,” said Jason Oxman, ITI President and CEO. “We’re encouraged President Biden and Congressional lawmakers put digital infrastructure at the center of their bipartisan plan, specifically efforts to close the digital divide, leverage technology to address climate change, and bolster U.S. cyber defenses. We look forward to working with our partners in the administration and Congress to advance these critical efforts.”

In April, ITI released recommendations for how the U.S. can leverage digital infrastructure to further its economic competitiveness. The recommendations call for the U.S. Congress and Biden-Harris Administration to make transformative new investments in digital infrastructure in order to tackle the climate crisis, ready the U.S. workforce, and close the digital divide so that all Americans can participate fully in the modern economy.
