WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI issued the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman:
“The jury’s decision is the right verdict in the trial of one man. But it does not change or solve the societal racism that led to the death of George Floyd. His tragic and senseless murder, like so many murders because of skin color before and since, cannot be a mere moment in time that causes us to pause, and then return to where we were. Justice today in one trial does not create justice for all.
“ITI, on behalf of the technology industry, remains committed to listening to communities of color, taking action, and being a constructive partner in the ongoing effort to bring about meaningful change.”
ITI previously announced support for Congressional efforts to address policing reform, including the George Floyd Justice in Policing Act.
