WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI issued the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman on President Biden’s Executive Order, Promoting Competition in the American Economy:

“The U.S. policy and regulatory environment has enabled American companies to lead the world in developing innovative products and services that transform markets and address society’s greatest challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, climate change, and more. We urge the administration to ensure its critical oversight responsibilities avoid stifling U.S. economic competitiveness and innovation across sectors. In that regard, adherence to long-respected procedural mechanisms in regulatory processes that incorporate the input from all stakeholders, including industry, are essential for successful outcomes. It’s especially important that agencies work with businesses to ensure consumers continue to have access to safe and secure repair that protects their sensitive information and prevents physical and environmental harm. We look forward to working with the administration to ensure this measure truly benefits consumers, innovators, and the broader U.S. economy.”
