WASHINGTON – Today, global tech trade association ITI issued the following statement from its President and CEO Jason Oxman in reaction to the November 15 virtual meeting between U.S. President Joe Biden and Chinese President Xi Jinping:

“We appreciate Presidents Biden and Xi’s recognition of the importance of stabilizing the U.S.-China bilateral relationship and continuing dialogue on a range of issues, including those on which the governments do not agree. We are encouraged by both leaders’ stated intent to maintain consistent engagement at senior levels, including providing direction to and empowering respective staff to address key issues. ITI urges both governments to prioritize implementation of Phase One trade commitments and begin substantive negotiations to resolve differences and roll back harmful tariffs. If these issues are successfully addressed and fair competition is restored, then businesses and consumers in the United States and around the world will benefit.”
