WASHINGTON – ITI, the global voice of the tech sector, announced today that Sarah Shive and Jennifer McCloskey will join the organization.

“At a time when countries around the world are grappling with how to modernize their tax codes, Sarah’s and Jennifer’s expertise will be critical to providing value for our member companies,” said ITI president and CEO Dean Garfield. “Both Sarah and Jennifer have deep tax policy backgrounds that will be instrumental in bolstering our advocacy efforts both in the United States and around the globe. We can’t wait for them to start.”

Shive will lead ITI’s U. S. tax policy outreach to Congress and related issues. She joins ITI from Senator Debbie Stabenow’s (D-Mich.) office, where she served as senior counsel and led the Senator’s work on tax, Social Security, and pension-related issues at the Senate Finance Committee. Previously, Shive was senior counsel for Senator John Rockefeller (D-W.Va.) and advised the Senator on tax, budget, and financial services policy. Shive holds a juris doctorate from The Ohio State University and earned her Bachelor of Arts in organizational communications from Marietta College.

McCloskey returns to ITI with several years of Senate experience and will handle ITI’s global tax portfolio, among other issues. Most recently, she served as a senior policy advisor to Senate Finance Committee member Senator Bob Casey (D-Pa.) handling tax and trade policy. In this capacity, Jennifer served as staff director for the Taxation and IRS Oversight Subcommittee during the 113th Congress. Jennifer earned her M.S. from The New School and her B.A. from The University of Michigan.
