WASHINGTON – The IT Alliance for Public Sector (ITAPS) today announced that AT&T* has joined as a participant of its public sector division of the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI).

AT&T is one of the world's largest telecommunications companies. Their networks carry 67.0 petabytes of data traffic on an average business day and can be accessed from nearly every continent and country. In the U.S., AT&T is one of the leading providers of technology solutions to federal, state, and local governments.

“We’re delighted to welcome AT&T, one of the leading technology solutions providers to the U.S. Federal Government,” said Trey Hodgkins, ITAPS senior vice president for the public sector.  “As the respected voice of the leading innovation companies in the ICT marketplace, ITAPS is committed to advancing our members’ policy priorities to improve how agencies procure goods and services to ensure the best return on the taxpayer’s investment.”

“We look forward to working with ITAPS in ways that support our shared mission of serving government agencies now and for the future,” said Kay Kapoor, President, AT&T Government Solutions.

ITI formed ITAPS in November 2013 to develop an alliance of leading technology companies building and integrating the latest innovative technologies for the public sector market. With a focus on the federal, state, and local levels of government—as well as on educational institutions—ITAPS advocates for improved procurement policies and practices, while identifying business development opportunities and sharing market intelligence with our industry participants.

With today’s announcement, the alliance of enterprises in ITAPS grows to 22 participants.  In April 2014, ITAPS announced its inaugural 14 participating companies.
