Joe Hoellerer

Director of Government Affairs

Joe Hoellerer is the Director of Government Affairs at the Information Technology Industry Council (ITI). Joe is responsible for supporting ITI's advocacy objectives before the U.S. Congress on legislative issues related to innovative technologies, trade, and immigration. Prior to joining ITI, for nearly a decade Joe was employed by two trade associations, Associated Builders & Contractors and the Security Industry Association (SIA), where he worked in the government affairs department for both associations and received first-hand experience in advancing legislative priorities on behalf of sectors that rely on emerging technologies, such as artificial intelligence, "Internet of Things," biometrics, and unmanned aerial solutions. At SIA, Joe was primarily responsible for planning and executing SIA's congressional and political engagement strategies that focused on bolstering federal investment in innovative technologies with security applications.

In addition to his trade association experience, Joe previously worked on the 2012 presidential campaign in New Hampshire and interned on Capitol Hill. He holds a B.A. in Political Science from Auburn University and a Certificate of Graduate Studies from the Institute of World Politics. He is a native of Northern Virginia and currently resides in Washington, D.C. with his wife.
